This publication contains the outcomes of the course of Architectural Composition of the first edition of the Italian-Chinese Curriculum organized by University of Pavia, IUSS and Tongji University of Shanghai.
The Italian-Chinese Curriculum at University of Pavia (ICC) is an innovative academic experience inside the Master Degree Course in Building Engineering and Architecture, thank to the well-established collaboration between University of Pavia (Italy) and Tongji University of Shanghai (China).
The ICC, lasting two years, ends the five-year Master Degree Course in Building Engineering and Architecture that allows to be architect in ali the country of European Community and it is recognized in China on the base of the Agreement signed in 2005 between the Italian and Chinese Ministers about the mutuai reco-gnition of Diplomas in the two countries.
The 20 participating students, selected from those enrolled at the 4th year of Master Degree in Building Engineering and Architecture of University of Pavia and those who have completed the first level of studies at Tongji University, follow a specific path in Pavia in E.I.C. professors.
The international nature of the course also promotes participation in courses to students coming from other European countries through the Erasmus exchange (in 2009 -2010 seven students from Poland and Spain joined the Italian-Chinese Curriculum).
The first edition of the ICC has allowed students to partecipate with other universi-ties of the world in important international design seminars as in Barcelona, Volterra, Piacenza and Shanghai where students of the next edition will also participate.
